Recommended products

The tools we trust for a healthy smile.

Great oral health happens at home, between visits. These are the everyday products our team actually recommends — no fads, just what works. Ask us at your next appointment which picks are right for you.

Look for the ADA Seal of Acceptance on any product — it means it's been independently tested for safety and effectiveness. When in doubt, bring it to your visit and we'll take a look together.

Electric toothbrushes

The single best upgrade for most people. Oscillating or sonic brushes (like Oral-B or Philips Sonicare) remove more plaque than manual brushing and are gentler on gums. Look for a built-in timer and a pressure sensor.

Our tip: soft bristles, always — medium and hard brushes wear enamel and gums.

Fluoride toothpaste

Fluoride is the proven ingredient that strengthens enamel and prevents cavities. Any ADA-accepted fluoride toothpaste does the job — pick the flavor you'll actually use twice a day.

Sensitive teeth? Try a potassium-nitrate formula like Sensodyne.

Floss & interdental brushes

Brushing misses a third of every tooth. Traditional floss, floss picks, or interdental brushes all work — the best one is the one you'll use daily. For tight contacts, try waxed or PTFE floss.

Have bridges or implants? Ask us about Super Floss and proxy brushes.

Water flossers

A great option if you have braces, implants, bridges, or find string floss tricky. A water flosser (like Waterpik) flushes out food and plaque along the gumline. Use it with flossing when you can, not instead of.

Especially helpful for gum-disease maintenance.

Mouthwash

Not essential, but helpful. An alcohol-free fluoride rinse adds cavity protection; an antimicrobial rinse can help with gum health. Skip high-alcohol rinses if you have dry mouth.

Prescription rinses (like chlorhexidine) are short-term only — we'll guide you.

Whitening products

Whitening toothpastes lift surface stains; ADA-accepted whitening strips can lighten a few shades. For faster, more even results, ask about our professional take-home trays — custom-fit and stronger.

Check with us first if you have crowns, veneers, or sensitivity.

Kids' oral care

Use a smear (under 3) or pea-size (3+) of fluoride toothpaste and a soft kids' brush. Fun timers and character brushes make the two minutes easier. Supervise brushing until about age 7–8.

Ask about our Kids Smile Plan for affordable little-smile care.

Dry-mouth relief

Dry mouth raises cavity risk. Alcohol-free rinses, moisturizing gels (Biotène), and sugar-free xylitol gum or lozenges keep your mouth comfortable and protected. Sip water often.

Tell us about any medications — many cause dry mouth.

Night guards

Grind or clench at night? A guard protects your teeth from wear and eases jaw soreness. Drugstore boil-and-bite guards help short-term, but a custom guard from us fits better and lasts far longer.

Waking with jaw pain or headaches? Mention it — we can help.
